It would be like me telling my husband that I'm a little bit pregnant. You either are or your not, there is no in between. Those Growers under the existing 09 rules did "earn" their jackets and they new it. Not just a 1400 pound club patches. So you either are or not in the 1400 pound club.
And when it was time to go over any new rule changes, for the coming year at the convention. All rule changes and amendments were gone over, but when it got down to the section dealing with jacket and patch awards, that section was skipped over and nothing was mentioned. Even though the wording of "EXISTING" was REMOVED.
What a total insult and disrespect to the growers and the growing community. Their own mission statement says, "Fairness of competition."
Sorry but this current system favors some and not all, and even in their own favored areas some growers still got screwed out of what they did "earn". So in any given growing year some growers will get a patch for their jacket for making a certain weight while other growers who accomplished the SAME results will get nothing.
If it looks like a pile of s*** and smells like a pile of s***, it is probably a pile of s***.
The GPC has some explaining to do as well as making some things right. I just could not believe this mess. Makes me wonder what "supporting" clubs and growers around the world are thinking about this behavior. Thus, this 'vent' letter.
I have seen a lot of people that if they dare to buck against the status quo or point out an injustice, many times they get pounded down or pulled over hot coals. So at this point it seems anonymous is the way to go with this.
Feel free to pass this on to others in the community. Hopefully this will do some good in the long run and something will be done about this d***** up mess, to get it fixed and make it right.
