Subject: GPC letter have nots, have littles and wannabees

Ok so some of you would like to know what all the hubbub is about the ‘crazy GPC letter’ so here it is. For the record, I had nothing to do with it. It came in the mail with the same postmark like others have reported. I have edited the OCR rendering to replace some BP inappropriate text with asterisks (**)
I received this map and a letter from a grower friend and what an eye opener. The dots show all the GPC jacket award winner locations for 06, 07, 08 and 09. After four full years of growing the only GPC jacket awards are located in the northeast and northwest. What total bull s***. I was following the posts on the jacket awards this past year. Just mind blowing unbelievable. In the letter it made some comments about some of the posts. "Some of the other comments made on these posts were just plan odd. The GPC is an international club. How is allowing club member to 'buy' an official jacket/uniform and then earning 'their weight patches, other award patches be a watering down of a growing accomplishment? You are given nothing; you ‘earn’ it, like in any other large organization. This just gives everyone 'the opportunity to show their accomplishments off with pride and this will also promote the GPC as well. Not to mention of the enormous opportunity of fund raising for the GPC; off the sales of the official jacket/uniform." "The other comment from the guy in SC is another one. By the time his area is growing 14001bs. fruit on a regular basis the great lakes area will be growing 18001bs. on a regular basis. I've been gardening for over 40 years. Believe me when I say location does make a difference. If not, then why is the north eastern area not growing nice competition pineapples, lemons and oranges?"
