Checked out my Mother in-laws plant it looks like the main vine is 4 mains in one. 4 leaves come up at a time and the end is a crowded mess. too bad she got it in the ground late
would've been neat to see what it could produce.

It called ribbon or flat vine -- it is a somewhat common defect.

I cut the main ribboned vine on my 901 Hunt and used a strong secondary as my new main. Now I have my biggest fruit going on that plant. 500 lbs today.
