I do not know the record and do not know if such a record even exists??

Yes, it showed up in a dream once. Not to open a philosophical can of worms, but does that count as existance???

something ive seen with big early doesnt carry over to biggest at end ,its the 3rd quarter that packs on the differnce and that days/age of fruit now modern times 1000 lbs is half time. curve of growth trends seem to be longer days with less high gains

From watching past growth rates what happens between day 50 to day 70 is key. If you can average anywhere from 11 to 14 lbs during those 20 days your gold.

Here in WI we have a unique situation. We have had pretty warm, but not too hot weather early on in fruit growth.
It will be interesting to see if ANY of these big early fruit can hang on. Because we know most of them cannot. Somebody has to have one or we will never hit one ton. Maybe some have found the right seeds to get the job done?
Larry, exactly the info I was looking for thank you very much.

the measurements are important but what seperates the tenders from the pretenders is whats inside. the reason a lot of the big time measurment pumpkins weigh under chart or dont make it at all is because they grew so fast they were fairly thin walled. the blossoms can end up blowing out as well. many times the slower growing steady fruit are the ones that are extra thick on the inside and make it all the way.
