Yes it does. Very nice looking garden with an even better pumpkin. It looks like he does not till in his manure at all. Anaid_tecuod did you just put the manure on the ground and not till it in?

Hey Martin, that's not manure you see - it's compost. This is compost made by the local landfill from yard waste and has a lotta small wood chips in it. I spread a 1/4" -1/2" layer over the patch like a mulch to help slow down water evaporation to save on the water bill. I figure every time I water, the patch also gets a dose of compost tea made in-situ. The only problem is that it presents a curious puzzle for the squirrels who must dig numerous holes everywhere to make sure nothing interesting is underneath.

I also tilled a bunch of the same compost into the soil during patch prep....
