I know this question has been asked time and time again but here goes. I've been using Seaweed on a regular basis on my plants. However despite my best efforts to stop powdery mildew it has surfaced almost overnight. What should be done. I have some doconil that I sprayed on the affected leaves but the rain has washed them. I'm also gonna add some Milk to a foliar spray that I'll be using. Anyone got any suggestions or tips for me to use????Thanks this time of season things get tense...

Keep hitting it with the Daconil and get another spot spray like Mancozeb and alternate. Make sure there is good airflow underneath the canopy and weed out extras for circulation. I'd also apply a systemic fungicide. If you can't afford Eagle try Bonide Infuse. I had a pretty bad outbreak last week and now it is 99% under control.

Eagle 20 is the standard by which all others are now judged.

FYI Kenny, milk is pretty good as a preventative, it won't help once your plants get hit. Here is a link to some possible organic alternatives, however if you have a good case of PM you will no doubt have to go nuclear first to get it under control, good luck. http://www.ghorganics.com/page15.html#Apple%20Cider%20Vinegar%20Fungicide

People at the chat told me to do this. It worked amazing!!!
1 gallon fill with 90% water and 10% filled with 2% milk. Add a table spoon of baking soda to every gallon. Then spray the tops and bottems of every leaf. If the situation is really bad add more milk and less water.
Hope this helps!! -Jordan.

Rotate Daconil and Captan, can mix in Neem too. Try to remove the most diseased leaves. You need good airflow. Make sure to spray the leaf stems and vines also. Are you having heavy early morning fogs??

Stylet-Oil is another spray that really surprised me last season. I picked up some "organic JMS stylet-oil" , which is a mineral oil. It killed off heavy mildew on the regular pumpkins as well. I still like Eagle 20, but have to admit the stylet oil worked awesome.

I agree Alan, last year was the first that I had tried it,,,good stuff.
In talking to a local potato farmer last week (picking his brain on fungicides) I mentioned it, he uses it with every fungicide spray all season long.
A newer fungicide for PM to look at is Quintec from DOW. Google and checkout the various university test results, some impressive stats.

I haven't had any powdery mildew in several years. It's been a very humid summer here this year. I would have to say I'm probably 95% organic at doing every thing organic in my patch now. As far as cucumber beetles and SVB, I don't have any. I only saw two cucumber beetles this year. I've attached a link to a site that has some great organic idea to try. They work 100% for me. http://www.ghorganics.com/page15.html#Garlic Fungicide Spray 2:
