This year has been challenging to say the least trying to get a pollination to take on the 15556 Werner, so I have changed strategy out of desperation and it seems to be hopeful, after pollinating one at 22' I had a mishap with my timer and the misters stayed on for 27 hours causing a slight split next to the blossom end, well it's healing and I have only waterered the patch one time this week and only for five minutes, I haven't pruned, covered,or used frozen water bottles even when it has been 95 and even though the patch is starting to get a little out of hand it seems to working for the pumpkin, I just wonder if I might have been "OVERWORKING" my patch

I think the plant may just be breaking free from stress. Maybe the plant is ready to make a fruit now that it can survive the heat.

I think you may be right on the stress issue, 22' pollination is beginning to go ,9th day and just hit 20 inches circ., I am still a little cautious at this point but I did foliar feed this morning with a little fish and seaweed. I know ten day marks are not too important but I am still curious to see where it will be.
