OK i pollinated the one i would like to keep at 10 ft out , there's a another at 12 ft & 13.5 & more coming,, I would like to go with the one at 10 ft because the others would be hard to handle where they are !the 10 ft looks good but the 12 ft may be a bit bigger for the age , 5 days & 2 days , So here is the question, has anyone ever had to go with the slower one & ended with a monster ? There so close at this stage it is hard to tell , but i only have one plant this yr and I'm hoping for the best!

I'd wait till at least day 10 and pick the healthier 1 of the 2.

go with the fruit in the best position, genetics should win and do well with either fruit.

i use a simple method.i measure the first polinated at 14days. if any pumpkin after that beats it thats your pumpkin. of course shape stem and other things can be taken into account.

Had the same issue, I ended up going with the pumpkins that were 10' vs the ones that were 12' to 14'. Because, the 10 footer's were so much better looking fruit and were growing steady.
