I have lost three of six plants, due to some kind of root rot,the base of the plant at the root turns to mush and breaks off, pumpkins were doing good, then got soft and the root was mushy, dont see any bugs, any ideas? seems to be traveling to each plant.

Must be a wilt or rot of some sort. Pictures?

Google pumpkin diseases. There are plenty of sites with pics to identify the disease. I wish ya luck next time.

Not good. I've had that problem every year in the past. It would spread to every side vine and even to other plants. In my case, it was because I watered too frequently and I didn't let area dry out. This year, I'm letting the dirt dry out completely before watering, and so far, no rot.

Agrifos soil drench and foliar before the onset of symptoms next year.
