Very good reading shaz. Simply written and easy to understand. Although I use surfactants for every application, I didn't realize that nitrogen facilitated the distribution of nutrients. I have an idea from here on out. Thanks!

Thanks for posting that Shazzy. I was going to email you after I saw you quoted a bit from the article, but don't have to now. Very interesting. Looks like I should be spraying in the early am.

Thanks Shazzy, I started foliar feeding 2x a week (fish\seaweed) and my plant looks great. Is it true you need to spray the bottom of the leaves? If so, I might not be maximizing its potential.

no problem guys. i got too much of time on my hands with the chicago laborers and operators striking jointly. i have plenty of time for research and i saw it posted more than once in different articles about how nutrients being able to be absorbed through the leaves make it to the tip of every root in the plant within 60 minutes. this got me more interested and i spent a whole afternoon reading just about foliar feeding in everything from bonzi trees to all kinds of crops. very interesting stuff. this article was the easiest to read and informative like GPD said and i figured would make a nice post. as far as the nitrogen fascilitating the distribution of nutrients, i have to believe the 3-18-18 product that tom p. sells at EPS will be the most effective for keeping steady gains after day 30 to day 50 as the soil gets depleted trying to keep up with 30 plus pound daily gains. i drenched lightly on wednesday with the 3-18-18 to get the plant use to increases in k nutrients as i was using a 9-18-9 foliar and drench up to day 25 to 30. last night i foliar fed 3-18-18. in a couple weeks i will then drench 0-0-25 3 days prior to starting the 0-0-25 foliar finisher for steady after day 45 to 60 growth. i will go half strength light on the 0-0-25 at first and increase to full strenth later on. the 3-18-18 will continue to be used all season regardless of when i also incorporate the 0-0-25 into the rotation. thanks tom for all the help.

and everything that i read said calcium is not one of those nutrients that can be absorbed through leaf tissue and translocated through out the plant. this doesn't mean a specialized product like co2 can't add calcium through nanotechnology at the leaves. from what i read is that your basic cheleated calcium products do not work for foliar feeding.
