The white blossom nub is rotting on the fruit on my Risi 544. I probably had left the flower on too long. Anyway I was wondering if I should cut off all the rotten part or cut the whole thing off.

( A Old Tom Beachy trick) Get a small type brush ( like a artist type brush) and dip in into a straight bottle of daconil (no water) and paint it on your blossom end. I do this every year to all my blossom ends even if they need it or not. It works like a charm.

i cut off the rotten part and leave on the healthy portion and apply captan and a run a fan on it while keeping it dry. it is not a problem whatsoever if caught early enough before going too far. i have had to chase rot on a pumpkin once to the end of the nub and then some and the blossom area actually looked like an innie belly button there but i got it healed in time and it was fine all season.
