Hey all, sorry for the dead horse, but I did not take the fungicide preventive method which reflects my rookie tendencies. My plant is probably around 10% effected with powdery mildew. I sprayed tthe leaves tonight with Bonide Fung-Onil (Chlorothalonil).
I'd like to be very aggressive about this so my question is it too late to treat systematically or should I just keep hitting with this contact spray? Also do I need to get the vine, or is just leaves okay? Thanks
Luke

Systemic would probably be a good idea. It can't hurt.

The one year probably I think 3 years ago now I got PM really back on my zucchini's and crooknecks and for the life of me I could not find a store bought fungicide that would take care of it. I apply different things because alot of my garden is for eating so I don't want systemic fungicides/pesticides. My great grandpa told me the milk/water method. I sprayed off the leaves to wash away as much PM as I could and applied the milk spray. The PM did not go away 100% but they barely had any on them and were doing nicely. I have used skim milk and low-fat milk with the same results. 10% milk/90% water every 4 days if its bad. Once a week(7 days) if its starting to show. Also I see alot of ppl using Arm & Hammer baking soda/water mix spray too. Can't remember the amount but I'm pretty sure its one tsp per gallon.
