I have a wet stump on the 1288. The fruit is growing well. I put strate bleach on the area and will let dry. Any suggestions.

what do you mean by wet stump?,, like wet as in foam wet?,, do you notice the dirt around your stump area staying wet, while the rest of the patch is dry?,,

Its not foaming quite yet... It just seems damp on the stump area. I'll have to wait and see. I don't know why it's doing it. I think I'll be able to manage it. If not I'll have to operate on it. I'll see on monday. I bleached it. The area around the stump is dry. I guess I'll have to wait to see on monday.

Sraight bleach is over kill, as in kill everything. Im with roger on this one.
Got a oozing stump on one of mine. Split it open lenghtwise, dug out the soft junk, coated with Orthos garden disease control and set a fan up.
I'll have to post a few pics.

Update on the stump. I cleaned the area with bleach and hand dried it with a towel. I let some air get to it for a few hours. Then some daconil was put down over the area. Its now uncovered and sun is drying the area. I suspect that the stump will dry up and be healed by tuesday. Talk about a nerves. Other than that the plant looks good except for maybe having to sever the main vine forward the fruit due to shoulders getting larger. The rooting on this plant is nothing short of amazing.
