It's been miserably HOT and HUMID up here in PA this past week. Work's been a bear. I've been busy with other things, haven't spent nearly enough time in "the patch". I just can't wait to get home tonight, get outside where the phone doesn't ring, and relax.
Even though my plants are a little behind, and both have vine splits, I'm still confident that I can grow a respectable pumpkin or two.

I will take the hot and humid PA weather over the cold wet summer that mama nature tossed at us last season. If this trend continues there should be some slungers coming out of PA. Maybe even Rocky will come to the PGPGA weighoff this year.

IMO- Last summer was better. I haven't had more than 1/2 of rain in a month. Everyday this week has been high 90s to 103. I think last year in my area was prime pumpkin growing weather. Hey Csterner- I see your in Gburg. Thats pretty darn close to me.

We had a full week of 100+ degree temps here this week and have had no rain in weeks! Local paper said the driest June for us in 50 years.

Only 100, HA, welcome to my world LOL. But I do think, that if the NE heat continues for too much longer, and you start to see all the nasty effect heat has on your patch, you're going to be wishing for the cold wet summer!

I agree that last year was better, here at least. we just had that heat wave as well which was on the tail end of no rain for almost three weeks. Thank God for the nice shower last night because....where i come from, rain is a good thing.

I definitely prefer this summer's weather to last year. You can always water your plants when it is too dry, but when the rain won't stop falling there's not a damn thing you can do but pray. And this year's weather is great for keeping late blight away from the tomatoes, if you grew tomatoes last year you would make a deal with the devil to not have to go through that again!

Sounds to me like you just need to find a nice peacefull river and do a little fishing.
And hoots, I feel for you. First yall had one of the worst winters ever and now the temps.

You can supply water, you can't supply sun. This year is much better than last year around NE Pa.
