I have had 3 females on one plant that bloomed abnormally. "today half the petals open---tomorrow the other half opens." Is it a waste of time to pollinate---do all these abnormal blooms end in aborts? should I pollinate today and tomorrow on that one blossom?

Might just be that something has stuck on the bloom so that it doesn't open fully - you can just help it open a bit by pulling the stuck bloom a little and it will normally pop open (I pollinate very early in the AM and force open the blooms that way since the sun has not risen yet)- but you'll want to pollinate them the first day it tries to open.

the half that opens first are mature petals. the half that is not open yet is still slightly green and immature petals. had one to do this today. I did not pollinate. If the other side opens in the morning, I will pollinate and see what happens. In the future, i will pollinate both days. The last blossom that bloomed abnormally was only a 3 lobe but bloomed all in one day.. It is 6days old and chugging along and was 12" cc on day 5. The next female was normal and 5 lobe and chugging even better.. the one today was abnormal and 5 lobe.(18ft out) I guess I will live and learn this one. Crazy blooms!
