joe richards grew a 1468 that was weighed at the indy state fair some years back. the weigh off is mid august so his pumpkin had to be over 1000 lbs ott by aug. 1st. but he started his seeds the first of april.

A June 15th pollination would make it 47 days old on Aug 1. 1000 pounds is entirely possible for a good growing pumpkin at that age.

Joe said his 1468 was still adding 5#'s plus per day, when he brought it to Indy!!! No telling how big it could have been...!!! Was sweet to see, but bittersweet to think what another 30 days could have been!? Peace, Wayne
