George..my 2008 1246 had a big divot that a bird dug out...once it healed it was ok..This morning I was putting my mill fabric under a fruit and nailed it with the edge..I hate that..I was being so careful...every year I am the worst danger to the fruit

I had that happen to me last year I patched it up with a fungal pasted and put a fan on it for two days. It dried and scared over. It was a bad surprise to see it happen. I feel for you it really sucks to have that happen to you.I'd protect the fruit by putting down some cut laundry baskets. Put down some have a hart traps and coyote Urine as well as Have a harts Critter ridder....You have to be dilligent when applying these skills. If you keep on top of it you can mimimize the chance of some ignorant Raccoon from eating away your hard WORK. Don't forget to clean the pumpkin with a mild solution of bleach and water about 10 to 1 solution. Hope this will help you on your quest to heal the pumpkin.

I had a grondhog damage my personal best back in 2008. I painted on some daconil and it survived. But it left an ugly scar. There are pictures of it in my 2008 diary.

That happened to me but it was my terrier-pig-baboon hybrid that caused the damage. I applied some krazy glue over the gouge and it healed up and kept growing.

Good thing that the pumpkin is big enough so he didn't get to the seeds.
