Sorry its not a pumpkin question but I have been seeing giant beetroot photos and am in love. Where the heck do you get seeds for giant beetroot? A little late for this year. I like to plan ahead! :)

You might like to ask the same question on the european message board. There are some people who grow giants beets there. Or visit the European site http://egvga.webs.com/

The ones I'm growing this year came from Brad Wursten via the EGVGA. They are a blast to grow. I have other seeds that were given to me by a reputable grower who got them from Bernard Lavery.

It says long season beet. How long does it take these things to grow?

I start mine inside in March and outside in April. They go till the end of September.
I use a variety I could only find in Holland, though I am sure it is grown under another name in the UK as they have been sighted at a giant veg show a few years ago. We do include these ones in our members' seedpacks in February (EGVGA).
The variety I use has grown me a 51.0 lber. The WR, grown on another variety, is 51.5 lbs.
