I sprinkle it directly on the plants when they are small. I usually re-apply after heavy rains, but this year would be every other day. Usually it is good for 2 weeks or so. I also mix it with any insecticide spray that I use with my hand sprayer. I learned the hard way not to use it with a squeeze bottle spray and plugged it up immediately. I have been using this since 2007 and have not seen more than a half dozen cuke beetles a year.

It is not rocket science. I usually put about 1/2 of a $0.50 bottle in a 3 gallon sprayer and that covers 6 to 8 plants. I don't think you can over-do things with plain old garlic powder.
