Keith,
Superantispyware is good, get the free version, but also get:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
This program is a must, set it to full scan and make sure at the end you quarantine or remove all the buggars
There is one more that will nuke pretty much everything bad, but its a little tricky, try the malware bytes andd let me know if it works, if not, we will bring it to the next level.

Both of these are great, they have saved me from many a headache. You might want to try an online scan from http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

Also: run the programs Andy and Tom recommended in safe mode. You're likely to catch more bad sh*t that way.

Good luck/good growing.

Andy and Tom...do these programs then sit and run on your computer? I understand that these types of free programs can take up alot of room and interfere with with the operating RAM...is that true or not??

I downloaded the malwarebytes program that Tom suggested and I really like it. I didn't see an option to choose live protection or not. For SuperAntivirus I deselected live protection and opted to do weekly scans and it seems to be working well. I know what you're taliking about Glenn, I did have Norton but it slowed everything to a crawl. I don't have that problem now.

PS- if you haven't already done so, check which programs are running at start up, I bet you'll be surprised. These are programs already installed on your computer, many critical and should start up automatically, some are just resource hogs. Click Start at bottom left, run, type msconfig and click OK then click start up. You will see how many programs are running at start up. I wouldn't change anything you don't recognize but many like MSN, quicktime, i-tunes etc. are insidious. If everything is working well I wouldn't do anything, I use the Selective start-up and it works for me.

I always use Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Been using them for many years.

Norton Internet security does it all and it works great. The 2010 version runs and destroys all the garbage automatically.

Keith, the last 3 or 4 months I have been getting many spam emails coming from one of your emails, someone is using it and just sending single links to click on. (I never clicked on them to find out what they was) but I know they wasnt from you personally, because of really weird single links they want me to click on.

Tom, thanks for that site download, that has really made my computer alot faster now.

Glenn, these do not run ion the background, I hate that about superantispyware.
Norton internet security is good, but on a home computer level, anywhere else it is too restrictive.
I've been using the programs that I recommended for years on corporate networks to clean up the worst case workstations.
Keith, you have my phone number bro, dont hesitate to call, we will get you fixed up.
