This season Frank and I decided to do something to make a difference or try to at least. Breast Cancer is a cause that is near and dear to my heart, my aunt passed away with it. In the time we live in either you know of someone or someone in your family has been touched by Cancer. So for every pound on our biggest pumpkin this season we will donate $.25 cents per pound to the Susan G. Komen fund for the cure. Now this is open to all. One idea is to cover pumpkins with Pink Sheets. This will be a personal contest for all who enter. For every pound you grow on your biggest pumpkin you donate whatever amount you want and send to the fund. The team name will be TEAM PINK RIBBON….Good luck to all :)

Like I said, most if not all have been touched by Cancer in one way or the other. I helped raise $500 this past year for the cause at our hospital. So any amount here is good. Heck even a Penny adds up when you are talking a 500 + lb fruit or if you cant give any money and you want to support, just put a dark pink sheet over one of your pumpkins or melons or greenies and post pics in your diary.... :)

I love love love this idea. Both my mom and grandma are breast cancer survivors. Us three just walked in Relay for Life last night and as always it was very touching hearing stories. I don't have a pink sheet, nor am I growing, but just wanted to say props to you all. GO TEAM PINK!!

Another thing i use tina and frank is a causes toolbar, everytime I search with the toolbar a penny goes to any fund i want it to go to. My wife lost her mother at 17 and I lost my grandmother to lung cancer before I Knew her so as said above anything that can be offered to help is well worth it not only for us,the people that have any kind of cancer or our children is well worth the extra effort. Maybe BP can get noticed for other things as well
