Had about a 10-15 minute hail storm at the patch about 20 minutes ago. Not quite as big as last year's storm but big enough. Kids plant is beat up bad. The hail netting that I finished installing a week ago fortunately held very strong (let me know if you are looking for good an inexpensive netting). 1161 Rodonis plant got beat up on one side where the hail came in on an angle under the netting but the 1236 Harp plant was almost untouched. Just posted pics in my diary.

Netting comes out of Italy but even with shipping it was less expensive than what I've found in the States. The have a number of different hail nettings but I like the 5/4 Kristal the best. 14% shade, small holes and strong. Learn more at www.retilplast.it/en/. Tell Antonio that Jamie Johnson the pumpkin guy sent you ([email protected]).
