I have a theory on why the 1385 grew the WR in such a cool year. The 1385 clone I have wilts as soon as it gets above 80 and does not grow much above 85. But this week with the cool temperatures and rain it has taken off like a rocket. Has anyone else noticed the 1385 likes cool temperature? Because if it is a warm summer I don't know if the 1385 clone is the best thing for me to grow. The other plant on the other side of the patch likes heat it did not even wilt when it was in the 90s two weeks ago.

Nic, thats a good question. The 1385 grew the world record and a bunch over 1100 pounds. You have to remember that the 1385 has the 998 and 1068 in it. Just like the 1180 Pukos.

All clones will do that, Nic.

sounds like clone doesn't have enough roots to keep up with the heat.

Bill, this year seems to be exciting also. The great genetics out there. It's really cool to see all the latest genetics come to life. I love the genetics in the 1288 and the 1068 Rodonis and 700 Rodonis also will be interesting. This year will prove to be exciting also. At least for me.

Nic, you are probably are already doing this, but Id make sure you Id hit each leaf node with a little extra Mycorrhizae, clones tend to have a lot less of a root system starting out verses a plant that has been started by seed , it has been developing a root system even before the seedling breaks ground.

I don't know if I am keeping it yet I have two plants and I will cull one when it reaches the middle. Especially if it has less roots that could possible create a smaller pumpkin but I think the genetics of the clone are better than the other plant. Difficult decision in about a week.
