Halosulfuron herbicide as early in the growth stage as possible. Use of methylated seed oil as a surfactant is required. Don't believe the BS claims that regular spreader sticker work just as well.

This assumes you are really dealing with yellow nutsedge. Is it grassy looking with a yellowish TRIANGULAR leaf?

I used to pull it up making sure to get the bulb/nut -- the dang stuff spreads fast if you don't get it early, but it is that bulb youhave to get! I could keep it under control that way but sorry don't have a good cure.

This is true. In a lawn there is no way to get all the tubers (nuts) so it keeps spreading. In a loose garden soil it is possible only until roots fill the patch.
I cannot vouch for halosulfuron's safety around cucurbits so exercise extreme caution & target carefully.

Cross cutting the stem with a knife will expose the triangle shape. Once the flower appear the plant will be too far along fir reliable chemical control. Multiple treatments over several years might be necessary.
Even Round Up has trouble killing Nutsedge.

I don't know if you want to try an organic approach, I copied this from an article on Horticultural vinegar:
At 20% acidity, horticultural vinegar is four times stronger than table vinegar. Spray it undiluted, using a pump sprayer, a trigger sprayer, or a watering can with a "rose spray" attachment, onto the area in the middle of a hot, sunny day. Apply just enough to get the leaves wet. You can probably watch the blades of grass wither. Even though it is organic, be careful with vinegar. Stay upwind of it; avoid breathing the fumes, and avoid skin contact. After a week or so, water the area to encourage any remaining life in the roots to sprout, and spray them immediately again. Keep repeating this process until the weeds give up. Remember that Bermuda grass is going to be harder to get rid of than just about anything else. Ranking right up there with Bermuda is nut grass (or nut sedge) and Johnson grass.

ThankZ all....We will see....I hit it today with RoundKill Grass and weed killer.....Heard it can do the trick....Ill hit it again tommorrow in 97 degree temps.....I needed to hit my new patch that had alot of thistle and bind weed so I figured Ill try the sedge grass as well.
It is not yellow but green and does have a v leaf....local Jareds personal looked it up for us....Appears to be all over in their patches in spots as well so it didnt come from our horse poop. More on this later....as we got some pretty good spots going......
ThankZ all.....

I like Gary's gasoline idea personally, add nitrate and it's a real bang of an idea!
