as I was laying in bed at 12;45 am i heard hail falling ,Im afraid to even look-maybe i just wont!pea size hail ,and earlier in the day at my daughters ball game we got hit also ,and I ddn`t even go look either-so if for any reason ,my plants are gone, i`ll be done for the season-cause I will not be replanting, long time, till day light ,and my gut doesn`t feel good about it,so hear goes a restless night.

The front passed over us before it hit you Rob. I didn't hear any hail, but the wind was ferocious. I won't be able to survey the damage until late this afternoon.
If only the leaves got shredded, take heart. These plants know how to rebound.
Restless night here too and an anxious day ahead.

Those were some nasty storms had 50-60 mph winds roar through here last night no hail though.

We got some hail here too. My plants are still partial cover...No damage. Good luck, don't pull them out. They can bounce back

Well Rob you have to look at them sooner or later. We really hope all is well with them. I feel your pain, but they will survive. Our 1678 was hit twice with hail last year & still did okay. Don't give up on them. Good luck.

It always looks better 24 hours later. After the storm rolled thru here( my moniter outside said winds were as high as 50 mph) the plants looked like they were twisted & braided. I went inside & refused to look at them until the sun had been up a while. Just went outside & except for a broken leaf or 2 the plants looked the same way they did before the storm hit. The worst thing you could ever do is go out right after a storm & try to upright the plant. I've learned the more you piss these plants off the faster they grow.

I didn't hear any hail, and had put up a partial cover just in case, but the wind was fierce. I too decided not to look until I got home this evening. My wind break had some slack and was loose from the stakes leaning over a little, and I have 4 broken leaves (2 on each plant). Glad I had the sides buried already. Hope yours aren't beat up too bad.

Another one went through this evening Rob. I saw it building all afternoon and just as I was getting ready for an application, it let loose.........driving rain, 50 mph winds, and .6" in 30 minutes. Thank goodness the first thing I did was stake the vines. Gonna be one of those years?
If things stay status quo, I can see main vines at 18-20 feet by traditional pollination time on July 1st. I've never yet dealt with a year like this. Main vines growing at 1 to 1.5 feet per day and secondaries way behind that. I need to start burying but can't until the soil dries a bit. It's gonna be an interesting year.
