Howdy!
You would think after the 2nd warmest April in history...the numbers would be a lot better...but the 1 week lost in May due to very cold days, compounded by the 1 week of record heat 95 deg, has produced some lower numbers for 2010.....
Here are the number for 2010....way behind...these were all started on April 15th.
#1 - 843 Heyne - 84"
#1 - 1309 Hebb #1 - 84"
#3 - 1662 Stelts - 77"
#4 - 1254 Urena - 76"
#5 - 1068 Wallace - 75"
#6 - 1596 Wallace - 73"
#7 - 1309 Hebb #2 - 69"
#8 - 1140 Stevens - 62"
#9 - 859 Bhaskaran - 59"
#10 - 1161 Rodonis - 52"
Max/Min - 84"/52"
Note: In 2009, the 2 smallest on June 1st produced my 2 biggest pumpkins! Go figure!
2009 numbers..... #1 - 1689 Jutras - 108" <--- produced my 1135 #2 - 1272 Brunst - 102" <--- produced my 994(?) #3 - 1568 Conolly - 99" <--- couldn't get a set. #4 - 1087 Bhaskaran - 97" <--- produced my 1227 #5 - 1161 Rodonis - 95" <--- produced my 972 #6 - 1290 Poirier - 89" Bad plant #7 - 1385 Jutras - 88" <--- produced my 859 #7 - 985 Werner - 88" <--- split #9 - 1566 Rodonis - 87" <--- produced my 1355! #10- 904 Stelts - 74" <--- produced my 1293!
How does it compare? Max/Min #1 - 2007 - 140"/87" ----> Year I set state record at 1258.5 lbs #2 - 2009 - 108"/74" ----> Year I set personal best at 1355 lbs. #3 - 2006 - 95"/72" ----> 1068 lber #4 - 2010 - 84"/52" ----> WR????? Amazing... I wish I could do this. My longest vine right now is about 2 feet. Of course we just went through the coldest May ever here. Very little sunshine.

Alex, 152" awesome!! That even whoops my 140" record 2007 year!
Josiah, nice job...yes, I also heat all mine and you can see the difference on yours...it does help a lot.
I have been using heat for a long time and found it the only way to beat the potential early end to the season here in SE MN....worst year was Aug 21st,2004 when the whole patch went down to the ground, just my patch got it other areas were close....so good to get a jump on season! Although last year...Sept was awesome and my theory of getting them in early was bad as July was a bad month. So never know... ;-)
