Subject: Cleaning up stump area for airflow?

When do most of you guys start cleaning up the stump area for good airflow ?
I have new growth at the stump area while the 1st 2ndary vines are only about 12-18" long and it is very cluttered

Start chopping. If it looks like it might be a problem eventually, nip it while young.
