I just had to ask! Seems like we track everything these days, why not shipped plants?! LOL

And....would a shipped plant be considered a co-op effort?!

Wasn't Don Young's 1658 grown off a shipped plant?

A shipped seedling via regular mail would have already set fruit in the box before it arrived so I'm guessing fed ex!

Don, how did Ron package that plant up for you? like what did he put inside the box to support the plant? and did he send it for a 24 hr package arrival?,, I often wondered about how the best way to do this was and I know Ron has done it quite a few times.

I dont think the mail guys care about signs on the box like '' the side up only'' or ''Fragile'' lol... so packing a plant has to be tedious work to keep it protected during shipping from the plant getting banged around and turned upside down and inside out,lol

I sent a plant to West Virginia last year and it arrived just fine. I used styrofoam peanuts to fill the box and sticks to keep the plant from being squashed. I sent it regular first class mail.

Brooks they are basically taped to the bottom of the box so the pot cannot move around. Or fly around if the box tips over. The tape just suspends the plant upside down. Pack and tape the potting mix into place as well. No flying potting mix as a result. Put plastic cover over top of plant to prevent leaf damage.

This is how "the man" packages them Brooks.

The USPS dumps boxes by forklift for sorting. So no matter what the box says it WILL be rolled around at least once. No need to overnight IMO.
