Kelly, I have had a bunch of fun at the Indy St. Fair, and you Indy growers are certainly a great group...alas, I am perplexed by "Terms & Conditions #17"!!! Any details of what this actually means? Does it mean, that if I bring a 1726# pkn to the weighoff, it becomes the property of the Indy St. Fair, if they so choose? I have never read anything like this in the rules for any other weighoff! Peace, Wayne

Hey Wayne, I think what they mean is, if the fair wants to do something with the pumpkin (carve it for display, blow it up, etc) they claim the "right to it" by giving you a prize.
But in my experience, they have always asked if they can use the pumpkin before going ahead and doing it.
The Indiana State Fair is really easy to work with and one of their directors is a grower, so they understand the kind the time and money we have invested.
I hope that helps!!

Thanks, Kelly...that helps...knowing that a grower is one of their directors!!! Certainly a fellow grower would not let anything wrong happen to anyone's pkn!!! Peace, Wayne

Wayne I'm the Director of the Ag/Hort building and in charge of the weigh off at the Indiana State Fair, and I assure you that if you bring in a 1726# pumpkin you will leave with a 1726# pumpkin. Tom

Thanks, Tom!!! I don't know of, or have ever even heard of the Indy St. Fair...claiming ownership, of anyone's pkn!!! That having been said, I am still curious as to why it is in the printed rules?? It's all good, I guess that's where the old saying came from...curiosity killed the cat!!! Grow em BIG!!! Peace, Wayne
