Has anyone else noticed a diffrence on their first true leaf and 2nd true leaf if you have used these products on your seedlings?,,
I used a light drench of both these products on a few seedlings before putting them outside and have found the first and second true leaf scorched at the tips , (just on the ends of the leaves look scorched(Light Brown).
I have never had this problem before with seedlings and Im almost positive one of the two, or both these products caused this cause this is the only thing I have used on them beside the light drench of fish/seaweed I have always used over the years,,
Im not saying dont use them, cause they are great products, and they will definatly be used by me, but just not on seedlings anymore. if you do use them be careful to only use these on your plants as they get a little older, If you do use them all you need to use very very little(which I thought I did,,lol) of this stuff if you do use it on young plants.
But anyone use this CO2 and Azos for the first time this year and find it had any affect on a real young seedling like I did?

Let's not rush! Nothing should be used on seedlings! Not even water from above. LOL

I have a little scorch on my first and second leaf tips didn't use CO2 but did use azos. VERY weak like 1/2 teaspoon in a gallon of water then that gallon watered like 20 plants. It was just a little water to keep the soil from drying out and I thought I would add some azos because I thought it took some time before it would become beneficial.

LOL Tremor!,,, I had to try it to see if it would give it a EXTRA kick,,ha!,,
but I think your right Jpwrhse, I might have used a little to much Azos, heard it might help a bit on root growth, and that Im not so sure of. You find out the hard way when trying new things I guess, lol

Mine didn't get burnt. Maybe you are using too much.

I'd wait until they made a few new leaves in the patch. Not as seedlings still in their pots or within days of planting out. Let'em acclimate.

Yea, Im with you Tremor, even though I did mix it with water and watered it in the pot when I first started the seed, I do know I wont use it again when starting a seed in a pot, and im double glad I didnt put the straight powder Azos on the seeds like I do my Mycorrhizea, or I think I would really be in trouble,,lol,, thats alot of nitrogen for starting a seed that I now see by a link Huff posted. Im glad I was smart enough to test it on only a couple plants first, instead of all them,,lol.

That's what's weird, I tried same mix on test germinations and had no problems. Like nic said they were greener and healthier than ever. Put it on the real plants and some burned and some didn't. Interesting!

Brooks, I never did follow up on the seeds I started with Azos. I soaked my 1207 Young & 1375 Liggett in water a half hour, filed them & put them in a baggie & "shake & baked " it on them. When I took tweesers to put them on a paper towel in a baggie they were cacked with it. They germinated in a little over 24 hours & popped thru the soil in only 3 days. Cots were fine & plants look great. I'm sure others had different results, I just wanted to follow up on what happened to mine.

Thanks Huff,,,
Nic, thats exactly what I meant for the heading of this post warning'' not to much''. I know dont think in anyway this product is supposed to be used as a seed starter, nor have I read about anything that it was intended for that, (besides a post here on bp.com made recently). But this is how I learn from mistakes,,lol,,, which wasn't a big mistake but a mistake none the less . Next year I will know not to use this on starting seeds or on my young seedlings, the only time I will use it for now on is only when the plant is much more mature and when it also has a monster pumpkin growing on the end of the vine,,lol.

I shared an elevator ride with Neil From RTI nd asked him about using the AZOS for seed starting. He told me to simply dip the seed into the powder. Looks good so far!
