Subject: Can this planting tip relate to A.G.s?

I came across the following link when researching intensive gardening. http://www.endtimesreport.com/french_intensive_gardening.htm
If you read the last half of the article, it talks about how compressed soil has a better capillary action. Here's a quote from the article: "But the capillary action is absolutely necessary to bring water up to the roots of growing plants to promote good and deep root growth.
Should we compress the earth around our newly planted A.G. plants? Something to think about. Any thoughts?

The "earth" around my newly planted AG plant is compressed enough already!!!! (Heavy Clay Soil) I am doing all I can do to un-compress the earth around my newly planted AG's!!! Maybe I should read the article?? LOL Peace, Wayne

LOL Wayne. Maybe compressing the earth is recommended for newly planted seeds, and not for plants like A.G.s? I was just curious. In the past I've tried loosen the soil around the planting sites, thinking it would be helpful to the roots. Maybe this encourages shallower rooting though?
