I've heard that when plants are youn g you can put a fan on them so they can get stronger and they'll be less leggy and much stronger. Anyone know different.

It works. Just a gentle breeze however.

1/2 hour a day is fine. Don't over do it.

Kenny, just take your seedling with you next time you take a drive and go somewhere, make sure there isn't any cops around and get your speed up to 90 to 95 mph and then hold your plant out the window ( or if you have a truck, just place it in the middle of your bed and let it bounce around corner to corner). This will make a nice strong plant doing this 3 or 4 times a week.

Brooks, this is why you are not the World Record Holder...you need to do this 7 days per week!!! They lay down and get WEAK on the days off!!! Peace, Wayne PS... any other questions should be sent to Pap!!! ie email from pap on 4/17...milk, etc!!!

An even better method is the "no hands required" method. Just strap the pot to your head and get on your bad motor scooter and ride.

Brooks- I like Paps idea, but with a twist. Can I bungee cord the plants on the roof of my trucK? I thought of superglue, but it seems a bit messy. Bill P

Kenny, there's your problem right there. The adult channel is for pollination time. Right now you need to be playing the Rocky theme song.
Seriously though, anyone have real thoughts on fan use?

Tim I've heard that it is suppose to help give the plant some type of strength by making it used to the climate and adverse conditions that it is expected during a young plants season.

got a fan on them now kenny. i find the best way is to put the fan 8-10 feet away from the plants and then adjust the speed to see them shaking a bit in the breeze, but not getting blown with too much force. thad starr made a good post on the gvgo site this year about the fan on seedlings and i am thankful for the knowledge. it worked great with the tomatoes this year too.

I've been a stressing my season so far. The 1596 Wallace is looking awesome. As is the Wallace 1288...The plant that shows the best progress so far is the 1142 Vankooten..Also my plant looks robust and strong...The 1068 Rodonis looks healthy but isn't growing like the others, I suspect that it will burst with growth very shortly......I'm holding no effort back and will do just about anything to reach my goal.....I thank all of you guys for your confidence in this...also the plants love to watch Mtv...lol!
