anyone know the application rate of aluminum sulphate for purposes of acidifying the soil (pounds/sq. foot)? I've heard about not exceeding certain amounts because it causes some toxicity

What is your PH...There are better and friendlier ways to reduce your PH. Your pumpkin will appreciate it.

pH is 7.5 seems like all other methods would take 6-12 months. My iron is already high so I'd rather not use the iron sulfate. I'd appreciate any method that is friendlier and won't take 6 months to take effect.

I pretty sure that's about where Don Young has his ph.

Leave it alone. A 2" layer of Peat Moss will keep down qwwds and lower the pH but 7.5 is OK.

Then I'll just do some peat moss and let it be. Thanks boys.

I was thinking the same peat moss. Make sure you get the not adjusted kind.

Pumpkins don't like aluminum, not many plants do. Tremor has the best idea to try first.
