I bought a similar product called "Thrive". It seems alot of companies are starting to offer bio products marketed toward the home gardener. I have two test seeds that I'm starting tonight and am going to use the product on one of the seedlings. I'll compare the two and let ya know how it goes.

I used that Espoma product last year. I put a teaspoon in each 5" peat pot and some more in the planting hole. I also used some at leaf/root nodes when burying vines. My plants started off very well, with 2 ex eeding the 1200# benchmark for 35 days. Then we got way too much rain and a flood. I used this on 6 of 8 plants. I also used Aliette on all 8 plants. None of the plants treated with Starter Plus had any of the root rot problem that I have had in the past. One of the plants that was not treated did get that problem and the other just didn't grow well at all. It would be better if it had more of the good endo micorrhizae and none of the useless ecto.
I went to get more this year, but all the nearby Lowes store had was over 2 years old. Espoma's website recommends that it is best if it is less than 2 years old. So I went to Menards and got a similar Jobes product that was fresh.
If you can get it cheap and fresh, I recommend it.

Well I'm happy that you would recommend it Iowegian.
I bought 20 pounds of this product, at the time I got it I did even think to look at the exp. date, just figgerd it was new, well, I just looked at it, it's just a year old, should still be good....
I did do a test with it on some seeds with great results. thanks for the insight, Josiah O, Brandt
