So in most message boards/forums, when someone posts on a thread it jumps that thread to the top of the board. That format allows for good topics/threads to stay at the top. This is the only site I participate on that isn't formatted in that matter. I was just curious....
Not so much of an issue in the general discussion, but it could be handy in the other threads that contain growing information.
Cheers, Tad

I like the way it is now. Please don't change BP.

I would like it the way Tad12 suggests it, like all other forums.

I also would like to see the most current (active) threads moved to the top...it just makes sense.

Andy,
I probably would have seen that if it had been bumped to the top! :)
I don't want this to be seen as a complaint, just a suggestion....
I like the idea of stickies (threads that remain at the top due to their relevance or useful info), for example, a basic patch prep article or fertilizing suggestions that could go in the Fertilizing and Watering section.
Also, when something momentous occurs, like a world record or the loss of someone in the community, it would be all in one thread and stay near the top as people comment.
Just a thought.
An example of what I'm talking about would be the lawnsite.com website. I comment in the organic lawn section and it has this format.
I'm NOT a tech guy, so I don't even know if this is a big deal to do or not. :)
Cheers, Tad

Of course that could be done BUT if I do it then I will have to impose a hard number of replies and mark a thread as "closed". Otherwise you get the "bump" replies and lots of dead threads that people are attempting to keep alive.

Can you do what was asked as an additional board option? Leave General Discussion as is for those who enjoy this format and make an additional forum sorted by most recent to least recent? I think you have this already on the home page with the 'most recent activity' links.

I think making different boards different ways would just be confusing.
Maybe the message could be sortable like the grower diaries are. That way people could sort them however they wanted.
