So when AG starts to form first set growth. For direction of plant, plant the oppisite of this growth for the direction I want plant to grow?

It will grow opposite to which the first true leaf is pointing. Hope I said that right.

Zappa's right & I would add to also plant the seedling at a angle pointing in the direction you want the main to grow. This helps avoid the snapped main that happens a lot when the vine starts running. I've planted on a angle for the last few years & there is no problem with the main snapping while laying down.

yea good tip Huff, I have also found that leaning your seedling over like you mentioned, it also helps from avoiding that dreaded kink in the main when it falls to the ground and starts running. Leaning the seedling over really keeps everything straight for the most part.
It can really become a pain once the main grows bigger(Beer can size) because the kink will gets worse the bigger the vine gets.

Thanks folks! I start seeds in pots and let grow out for a month so as to have a well established healthy plant. So I can indeed have more control over which way i place her in soil.
