I am going to set up shadecloth for the hot months and I am wondering what percentage of light reduction to get.

10-22% reduction.Ive done fine with white colored 22% that you can get online at greenhouse mega-store.Some of us colorado growers are trying 10% that "arvadaboy" can get from italy.10% isnt going to cool things off much-its for hail protection

The place I found out of Italy has hail netting with shade factors from 9-18%. I'm using a 14% shade netting this year because I like the strength of the material better than some of the lower and even higher nettings. They also carry shade cloth with higher shade factors but my main purpose was to protect the plants from hail so I got the hail netting. The company out of Italy is a little slow in shipping but their prices can't be beat. With shipping and customs included, enough hail netting to cover two plants was less than $100. If anyone is interested send me an email.
