John, Im not saying yours is the same , but I had my Sears 42 Inch cut Piece of crap tractor serviced a couple years ago by a tech that came to my house.

He has been working for Sears for almost 15 years and couldn't find the serial number on my tractor in the location that all these units are suppose to be stamped, there just wasnt none on it anywhere.
It was the first time he said he has ever seen that.
But the funny part is how could Sears have sold me that tractor brand new like that without a serial number?,, My paper work had a serial number on it but not on the tractor. I Wonder if this will have a effect on the tractor if someday I ever go to sell it?

But just wanted to let you know that even though mine isn't a Tiller , that maybe the manufacture forgot to stamp one on like they did my tractor?
