is see the 1253 on the list boz. it definately has the male side power along with nice 991 genes to boot. gene grew all those bign's last year even after a 70 mph straight line wind storm flattened all of his plants mid season. the 991 he said was one of the best plants he has ever grown and the 1119 has produced 1500 more than once. if i had more room it would be my next choice of seed out there to grow.

LOL KELLY!!!! there is two more seeds that I didnt mention that will knock your socks off also, but not going to name them untill they hit over 1500 lbs at the end of the year,,,ha!
Its really going to be tough to decide which makes the cut though, growing 10 plants is pushing my limit,,LOL!!

Shaz, for non proven seeds to grow I like that 1253 alot, every time Gene has grown it he has grown a monster off the 1119 and the 991 is a no brainier I think.
Another seed that I really like is the 954 Jutras seed, its only been grown once that I know of by a rookie grower to over 1312lbs. I really hope that seed will do good in my dirt.

Brooks you are to be commended on your ability to gather such a nice selection of seeds.

Ehem, however, I would respectfully suggest that you are making a HUGE ERROR in not including my Galeux D'eysines X 711 Bosworth in that lineup ;) Oh well, best of luck with all that 1385 Jutras and such...

Seriously, though, I hope the stars align for you this year. Have fun!

That's an OK line up. I didn't see any Grimes or Honniker seeds but there is always next year;)

Brain, they are going in,,lol,, but they are going in on my field pumpkins side of my property, I have alot of assorted and different type pumpkins and gourds, and Indian corn, ect,, that is going to be planted this year as well.

Steve,
I always start with 10 plants and the plants that I think are growing the best for me is the ones I show the most attention to, Once I see a pumpkin that isnt growing right or show Vigor that i know dont have a chance of growing BIG, my attention goes to my better growing plants ,I usually just let the not so good growing plants go to grow on there own (well, not really grow on their own, just not as much attention).

I usually end up with 5 or 6 good plants that end up being my best growers, and there is at least 1 or 2 that dont make it at all.
But this saves me alot of time at mid season to where I can concentrate on my best plants. so at the end its usually only 5 or 6 plants that I will go with .
