Ron and Pap sending me many 1068 Wallace's year after year even when one plant got smashed by the wife opening my hoop houses one year, and also sending me 1068's one right after the other when I couldn't get them to germinate mostly because of my errors, but most of the results came with soil help, and growing help from Ron Wallace by billions of emails the year I grew my 1019,1289 and a 1402 lb pumpkin.
845 Lbs was my personal best up untill then.

I chase down municipal leaf removal trucks in the fall and talk drivers into dumping a couple full loads in my back yard. Saves me $$ and a lot of work.

Unusual... using the feed tubs as night hotkaps inside the hoops and later as moveable windbreak for my young vines. Also useable for making tea brewers, mixing and soaking up potmix, rounding up pvc connection parts... and let us not forget barracks for the patch security

bodene, funny cause my dad fill his station wagon with bags of leaves and have us kids grind them after school. One you he had the cuty drop of two looads frm their vacume -- it had a lot more then leaves and so he stoped that ... and he was also concerned about the type of leaves = didn't want leaves in black walnut family. He perfered sugar maples as they broke down more quickly. BTW, it took me three weeks after school every day till after the sun went down to grind thoes two truck loads! I personally learned it was easier to just wait and get them from the dump in a already composted form in spring. But that sure brings back memories!
