How many growers have been in the newspapers and/or on TV for their growing? It would be interesting to know how many famous faces there are on the site in that way too.

I had a couple pictures on the local channel 2 news here for my 882. The one anchor is from my town and called me up asking to email them a couple pics.

I was also on the Front Page of the Town Newspaper here...a camera man came out and shot a few pics of my 2 fruit, and they did a front page story on them and me.

i think my wife,daughter and myself will be the first growers ever in our area for giants but hey we will see what happens i have been warned about publicity and never thought about it till now. it would be fun for the family though

Many Vermont growers have been fortunate with local tv coverage mostly for our regatta, but last fall was the most national coverage with our regatta being on ESPN on Thanksgiving Day.

Articles in the local papers and weekly publication called "Farm and Dairy" for my 2008 state record tomato and for my Giant Pumpkin that year.
There is also a pic of me and my tomato in Growing Giant Pumpkins the all Organic way.

Then there's that PlayGirl centerfold I did back in 1990.

I think that's it.

Washington

Jack and I have been in our local papers here in Washington. We have also been in the San Fransisco papers when we each one Half Moom Bay - Jack in 95 and me in 97. Jack, Jim Sherwood and I were pictured with Howard and Danny Dill in their local paper when we visited Nova Scotia. When you win at Half Moon Bay you are mentioned all over - Good Morning America, Paul Harvey to name a few. I got a call once at 3:00am from a radio station in Kentucky for a 'surprise' live interview. We have been featured in the American Profiler and Grit magazines.

5 yrs. or so ago, in local paper (Owensboro, KY). Dad took pic, into local gardening editor!!! 275#'s...downhill since then...LOL. Hoping to turn thing around this year & make news again!!! Peace, Wayne
