I think R.I. will certainly have its due share of Giants coming from their patches..So long as we get the required sunlight.

I was saying Ohio because we may actually have another year like last year. Early indications in weather models are showing a coolish wet summer. I don't like this because I want hot weather. But if it is cool we will have consistent temperatures and rain which will reduce splits.

If the weather does them right, there are 3 growers in 3 states, CT, Mass and Ohio who aren't playing around this season.

Can't count out Europe, Australia, or Taiwan ... but lots of good growers out there with the right soil and climate ... but with the way the weather has been, I might have to go with it being Washington state in 2010.

Ontario is set to rule the pumpkin world if we get decent weather. John V, Russ L & a few other growers could surprise you all at season's end.

I often wonder how much bigger our pumpkin would have been if I hadn't cut off the main vine past the fruit 2.5 weeks before the weigh off? I kick myself every day about that stupid move. I doubt we would have gained the extra 48# to over take Christy, but it might have been a bit closer.
