My good friend and co- worker and 2nd year giant pumpkin grower saved the life of a 3 year old boy today in Newport News Virginia.

Bryant was driving a tractor trailer on a very busy 4 lane highway when a little boy ran out in the middle of traffic.
Bryant was able to stop the truck and block traffic to protect the child form on coming traffic.
He than jumped from his truck and pick up the the little fellow before the boy was hurt...

The little boy had walked out of a child care center looking for his mother.I will not add any comment on the childcare center personal until the investigation is final...plus only profane words come to mind when thinking about them ........any way Bryant is going to grow some giant pumpkins for his two little girls this year,so wish him luck....
Bryant said he just did what anyone would do,but to me and that little boys mom & dad he is hero of the day.

Wow what a story! Gives me chills just thinking about it. What a great person and I bet the parents are very happy he did what he did.

Everyone here @ big pumpkins would have done the samething!
I'm glad he was there to help!!! Makes you feel good inside to know someone saved a life....especialy a young child. Congrads to your friend !!!

This reminds me of last week a mile from where I live, my wife an I got on the highway, next thing we no, traffic jam, 10 emergency vechiles came wizzing by us, finnaly we got past the sceen of the accident, it did'nt look like much happened. When we got home on the news, a 6 year old girl was running across the highway got hit and killed. They are now putting up one of those 20 foot walls that also keeps down the noise pollution, it was especially sad because the girl went to the same school as my sons.
