I download pics on to kodak easyshare software. I click on the browse button, then when you touch the cursor to a picture a little bubble will pop up and it will give you some info, including how many mb's the picture is. My question is , why does every picture have a different mb ? The max mb's to post a picture for our diaries is 2.0, and some of my pics are bigger.I don't understand how this could be. Can anyone help ?

Zappa, I use the same program as you. Once the Easyshare program is opened, click and drag the photos you want and place them on your desktop, then close Easyshare. When you go to upload the photo to BP, hit browse, select desktop from the dropdown menu and select the photo you want. Hope this helps.

What format are the Pics in - for posting on a website you're best bet is to use .jpg (Jpeg) instead of .png (Ping) as the compression used will cut down the filesize dramatically. To answer your question the MB that a picture takes will vary depending on the size of the picture and the type of compression used when saving it - for those pics that aare too big in size you can use a photo editing program to reduce the size or save them using a better compression format - with a 2MB limit using .jpg you can get a very large photo uploaded (most of the ones my 4 mega pixel camera takes at 2560x1920 use around 1MB or less)
Not sure but Kodak Easy share probably saves them in .png format or another non compressed format in order to keep the best quality as the compression can cause some artifacts and loss of quality in the pic but for uploading to a website you'll want to use some form of compression to cut down the amount of bandwidth the pics take to download.

The limit is 4MB. I will update the submission guidelines to reflect this.
