What is the value of a 1068? Opinions!!! Maybe one of the clubs in Wallace's area well be able to put one on a anction, to stand on it's own. I think it could be the most expensive seed ever sold!!!!!!!!!!

The average price for a 1068 Wallace was $792 before last night. Because it basically sold for $500 last evening ($1000/2) it now has an average price of $646. That $1000 lot was an incredible deal as the average price of the 1385 is $485 as a stand-alone seed.

EG, do you need seeds, I have a few I can send you. [email protected] they are no where near the value of a 1068Wallace, but they have the great genetics and can grow a giant pumpkin.

Silly, if I'm not mistaken, the 1068 was up to at least $600 last night before the 1385 offer was made. I think if the 1385 had not been offered, the 1068 would have gone right along your $792 average, IMHO, BF

ron has only a couple of these seeds left. he still feels very strongly that this seed under the right conditions could again produce a world record. time will tell.
if you look back at some of the top seeds in the world today you will find the 1068 in the family mix.
the big question is what pollinator into the remaining 1068 seeds left to plant will take it to an even higher level?
it will be interesting to see what he chooses.

I like to see the 901 Hunt crossed into it Pap. Bringing in some Eaton genes & some more Knauss genes into the mix, could produce that WR Ron's looking for. If I had a 1068, that's what I'd cross it with.

Value is in the eye of the beholder and I think the 1068 is likely in the top 3 seeds in my opinion. That being said I would never pay those kind of prices even for Jak's Bean stock. As I'm a cheap/poor SOB.

Even once all of the 1068 seeds have hit dirt, that seed stock will have saturated its genetics into the lines of champion pumpkins for the rest of time. You look at a lot of the heavy hitter seeds out there, and 1068 shows up somewhere recently. Then there are others I expect that will stay in the gene pool. 998 Pukos, and 1370 Rose.
I would expect there is a good number of people doing 1385 Jutras x 904 Stelts this coming year, and that is all 3 of the above.

I talked to a guy yesterday who said he is gonna plant his 1068 this year!!! Wish I could remember what he said he was gonna cross it with!!! LOL He also listed his top 8, and lots of good crosses are in there!!! ? now is...what are the top 2-7? (assuming that 1068 is #1), and what would you cross into the 1068? Peace, Wayne PS...just a fictional story, of course!!! LOL

Crosses of the 1068 start at the 25-50 range.
The real deal at least $850 at auction.
