Perhaps it's the long winter, the extra snow, the bleariness of looking out at my frosty, snow covered pumpkin patch, that just in the last two summers has become my summertime haven: however I can't help but envision those summer scenes of gently swaying pumpkin canopy leaves, undulating with that now vaguely remembered morning breezes. The sounds of the songbirds, so common in southern Ohio, my neighbor mowing his lawn, and the comfort of my lawn chair with slats on the legs to keep from sinking in the patch dirt. Such are , and I hope not just mine the thoughts of this pumpkin grower eargly awaiting the bliss of patch labor, joy, and frustrations that make growing giants such a passion...Ahhhh, is there anything sweeter than the smell of a fresh pumpkin blossom?

Paul the season will be hear soon enough and they'll be plenty of work to do. I'm starting some yard work now. So much to get done it's mind boggling. Painting siding on the shed, Blackening the drive way Painting the foundation, railings. It'll be so sweet once you see the plants take hold and all your labors come to life. Hang in there bud. I'm feelin it to. Been trying to get things in order to have a great season. Things like tea brewer, watering system, compost, coffee grounds, and the final seed selection....Got that down. I even made some seed markers....And have the worm farm at work. Just a few things to help with the cabin fever ..in search of the big Crackled pumpkin dream.....

You could always go make some giant snowballs in the garden, paint them orange, then a snowman, and pretend its you.
