Well it looks like we dodged yet another bullet. Lots of rain coming down almost 40 degrees. Hope this trend continues, New York and Pennsylvania getting hammered again. This is one of the mildest winters we have had in a long time.

Over 2 inches of rain yesterday, @ 40 degrees again as I type, not typical February at all.

This time last year I had 3 feet of snow. Right now the lawn looks like its ready to mow? Sure weird for February.

It isn't wettest February just snowiest. Snow has a low water content. Actually most of the precipitation for this month was in the form of snow. If it was warmer it would be wetter and we would have a lot of 1 inch+ rainstorms. 10inches of snow = 1 inch of rain.

Where i'm at we normally get 1-3 feet of now at a time coming off the lake. This happens at 4-6 times a winter. This winter, we've had a lot of nuisance stuff- only a couple inches at a time. I'd rather have it in feet, make the shoveling worth my time.

Just got my natural gas bill today , ouch! 141 meter hours compared to 99 same period last year. First time it has not rained every 4-5 days in months.

February 24 , patch had NO SNOW in it , Feb. 25/26 , 6 inches of rain fell , this morning we got a whole 2 inches of snow and most of it has melted . This time of year it is NORMAL to have 2 to 4 feet of snow on the ground here !

I'm a true believer in the almanac, and its dead on with this years weather in my area, said we was going to have a real hard winter this year and thats exactly what we have had. I haven't seen this much snow since I was a kid in like 3rd or 4th grade and forget what the grass looks like,,lol. I haven't seen the grass in my yard in two months.
One good thing at of all this might be the patch has been insulated with snow for 2 months from the hard cold winds (with no rain) that could have kept it somewhat protected from erosion?, but dont know if thats a good thing or not because a good freeze helps kill alot of the bad things that are in your soil.
