never listen to your wife, if you start doing that then that makes her boss. Put your foot down early in life or you will become a slave forever. Trust me I know this, cause It happend to me.

Agree. His & her patches. Same seeds. Let the scales decide. She might teach you a few things...or not.

This isn't the first time the World Record was owned by a woman. Won't be the last either.

Yikes........ next she is going to want that spot in the garage where you store your extra STUFF and she will take that shelf in the refrigerator where the beer goes. Your happy place will be invaded. Dont do it.

LOL, it's best to just divide up the garden and let each one do their part. My wife and I each love gardening, but there is always a difference of opinion on "how".

I put two corn seeds in the hole. She insists on three. etc, etc. This is just one of many things. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. The garden and the yard is always the envy of the entire neighborhood. It always comes out well. We've just learned that we each do things our own way.

I could see it being a problem if one of the two did all the work and the other did nothing. Count yourself fortunate if you have a wife who is interested.

Now, there is this theory about planting seeds during a waxing moon...

Hmmm... well, you can make things "separate", but the key is don't make a scene about it... just be cool. I hope it works out!

You guys don't know what you are talking about, Linda is in the patch with me every day, 4 eyes are better than just 2. I know many growers that have a wife that will not do anything for their husban's folly. I would bet those growers would love to have their wife interested in pumpkins.

BR , trust me she is interested but i dont have the patience to teach all the facts about how to do things, she does try but i just cannot have someone contaminating my daughter and i's pumpkin patch lol. The wife understands a little bit where i am coming from but she can still have a corner and step aside haha she is a good woman though. And with the whole date thing what she did is confuse the sh*t out of me with that dates i always plant then she comes up with these dates for her plants and says i need to plant the same time she finally has gave it up trying to tell me but she has been talking about her dates for like 2 weeks and i was flustered. I love a good polish woman :-)

Hey Pirate,

All us guys understand. And we wish you the best. But when former WR holder Bill Rodonis suggests your wife might help....well...she might.

Sounds like this has the potential for a new reality show. Have someones elses wife come help in your patch for a couple of weeks and see how it goes.

Here I'm the plantaholic and he's the pumpkin widower.

He steps in my patch under invitation and escorted ONLY. The 'crunch' of him stepping on anything... he'd rather NOT because.

I'd say, Pirate, give her her own space, support and help her if asked or if you see the squash bugs holding a convention over there... and see what comes of it :)
