I have not been to canada for some time and from what I have heard you can have a hard time going or comming back from canada it can be rather troublesome. I have a new "enhansed license" is this going to be enough to go and come back from canada?

I think in this day and age you're gonna have to get a Passport. It's the best form of Identification. The world is changing and its' a lot more secure. You may need to get yourself a passport...

We have the new enhanced licenses here in Michigan too. I looked over the information from both US and Canada to make sure this was enough. From what I can tell when traveling by land the enhanced license is all you need to get back into the US, however, you should have a certified copy of your birth certificate available in addition to the enhanced license to get into Canada.

I went into Canada at Rouses Point last year with my VT enhanced license to get beer.

Not a problem on either side. Customs scans your ID, scans the standard questions--where, what, how long--you're done.

Remember: No guns, drugs, or alcohol, and NO PEPPER SPRAY!!!

I used to run about 40 passengers both ways through US/Canadian customs. It was always a good time helping them hide their rum and produce.

Your enhanced license should do it, but the new passports are the most pain-free.

You have to have a passport when flying. I don't think you have enhanced licenses in KY anyway Wayne.

The way the world is today. Security is at an all time high. I came back from a trip overseas and was searched by customs for over an hour. I was upset to say the least. I had all the needed information and I was traveling light. The customs official was such as ass. I explained to him after his long hour search, that I was an American Citizen and I was coming into the country LEGALLY and I didn't have any illegal substances. He was some kid about 21 years old. Overdoing his job you could say. Sometimes people have to remember security is one thing and overdoing your job is another. I was thinking during the search" How many other People did this kid let go by while just concentrating on me?" The contents of my baggage was a statue of St. Michael and some wedding cake....Boy that was worth searching me for an hour.

For those states without the enhanced Licenses they have the new Passport cards from the U.S. Govt. which are good for 10 years and are cheaper than the regular passports @ $45 - I've got one that I use to go to Mexico from Texas every few weeks (Sister -in-laws prescription drugs are much cheaper there !!) and have never had a problem using it to come back (and I believe coming back from Mexico is a bit more thorough of a check than from Canada) - See Here ( http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_card_3926.html ) for more info on them !

those young punk kids with a new job (with athority) let their job go to their board. And makes their head swell and they think they are better than the rest of us.people like that need to be stripped searched by a queer to know what it feel like.
