I have a seed, Beauchy Cross #3 2009 (F-#50 Beauchy 2006 x M-1385 Jutras) Does anybody know what the #50 or the cross #3 means? thanks

I have that seed also (Beachy Cross #3 2009). The only thing that means anything to me is the 1385 Jutras. I have seeds I understand this one I don't.

I will explain why I do it that way. The numbers are basically assigned arbitrarily.
In 2006 for example, i saved seeds from something like 200 pumpkins. I only offered seeds from the top 50 pumpkin. Rather than put their weights and trying to remember 3 digits, many of which were within a 20 pound range, I assign numbers to them. This helps for figuring out and remembering which seed was which for me, and I hope for everyone else.
This year I saved seeds from about 70 pumpkins, but only am bothering to give away seeds from a few of the crosses, plus the ones I and my father took to competitions.
#50 Beachy 2006 is 643.5 Beachy x 805 Pukos
I know many people do not know this or understand this, but I still fully believe the #50 is the best seed I have ever produced. Better than my 1097.5 and everything. The #50 is responsible for beating just about as many personal bests as the 1097 in far far less plantings. Just not in the quality of patches as the 1097 found itself.
If I ever become a good grower again, I am pretty certain my #50 will produce a 1500+ pretty easilly.
I hope this makes sense abnd clears up the confusion.

I will verify #50 is a beast. I grew it 2 yrs and had it not split, it would've been awesome.

Tom, do you still think highly of the 846 Beachy? I know a couple of years ago you thought it could be a big producer.
